Time to celebrate!

Hey guys!

Guess what! You don’t have to be sad anymore! I’ll be in class tomorrow!!! Whoopee! Hurray! Can’t wait!

I’m off the hook for another day! So mop up those tears, save the Kleenex for more practical things, and come to class with a smile, knowing I’ll be there… just for you!

Jury Duty!

¡Hola, Español 1 y 2!

I know you will be highly disappointed and will need much therapy when I’m gone, but I have been assigned Jury Duty this week.

It’s not like times past where I have to be at court all week long. I have to call in each night and see if I have to report the next day. So I won’t know in advance whether I will be absent or not.

If I am, I will have plenty of work for you to do :-( and I expect you all to be on your best behavior!

Ok, you can stop crying already. It’s getting embarrassing!

Quiz Results!

¡Hola, Español 1!

And the results are in… and they certainly are not what was expected!

On the vocabulary section of the last quiz, Period 2 remains in front with an average of 3.0, but Period 3 was so close at 2.9! Yes, I said Period 3! Can you believe it? Then there was a big drop before Period 4 came in 3rd with a 2.3 and taking up the rear is Period 6 with a close 2.2.

On the le gusta section, again it’s period 2 out ahead with an average score of 2.2. But the scores were very close. Period 3 comes in second place again. Yes, that was the same Period 3 whose been so comfortable in last place that last few quizzes. Now, they’re getting in gear and getting it done! Period 4 was close behind with a 2.0. Ok, what happened to Period 6? They fell far behind with a 1.3 average. Are they taking naps during that 2 o’clock hour? Are they coming off that sugar/caffeine high from lunch? Who knows. However, they better put their nose to the grindstone and get to studying if they want to be successful on the upcoming test! Hint…hint…

As for the final section of the quiz, the verb section, Period 2 did not come out ahead. Yep, that’s right. Period 2 has lost their winning streak and didn’t get it done with the verbs. Who came in first, you ask?

Was it Period 6?… Nope!

Was it Period 4?… Nope!

Was it Period 3?… Yep! Period 3 rocks as they steal the lead right out from under Period 2 and were the first class to break Period 2’s winning streak! Congrats to Period 3! I knew you could do it! Their average score was a 1.8.

Tied for 2nd place was both Periods 2 and 6 with an average score of 1.6 and closing in in last place comes Period 4 with a 1.3. I guess Connor, Ugly, and Hippo are bringing down the average! :-)
Just kidding… not!

Here are the overall grade rankings:
Period 2: 2.8
Periods 3&4: 2.5
Period 6: 2.4

Looks like Period 3 took on my challenge and kicked it up a notch. Period 6 got too comfortable and slipped back into last place. Period 2 is still on top! Is anyone going to take them out?

… gradewise I mean.

Profesor Benedict

Is that a test I smell?

Hmmmm!

As I look outside and see the dark clouds, I can’t help but think it might be test weather.

What do you think…?

Hmmmm…

Makes you wonder.

Doesn’t it?

Profesor Benedict

And Period 2 does it yet again!!!

¡Hola, Español 1!

Period 2 does it again with an outstanding score on the Ni… Ni quiz of 2.6! That’s a B- overall average!

Period 4 came in second place and has challenged Period 6. Their score was 2.2, a C+ average!

Period 3 has slightly moved out of last place with a score of 1.9 which is a C average!

Period 6 takes up the rear with a score of 1.6, a very low C, almost a C-! Period 6 looks like it’s falling back into old habits!

Here are the overall class-grade averages:
Period 2 is clearly in the lead with a 2.9 average, a solid B, almost B+!
Period 4 takes second place with a 2.6 average, a low B, almost B-!
Period 3 and 6 tie for last place with an average of 2.5. They are both nipping at Period 4’s heels! That’s a B- average!

I challenge Period 3 and 6 to overtake Period 4 next week and let’s see who’s on top!

Spanish 1-Quiz Score Updates!!!

¡Hola, Español 1!

It seems that Period 2 is kicking butt after the results of Ch 1 Vocabulary B and the Sí/tampoco quizzes, they are clearly on TOP!!!

Here are the results:
Ch1 Vocabulary B—Period 2-3.6, Period 3-3.3, Period 4-3.5, and Period 6-3.2. Looks like Period 6 is slipping a bit. :-(
Sí/tampoco—Period 2-2.6, Period 3-1.9, Period 4-2.3, and Period 6-2.3.

Overall, Period 3 is still in last place and needs to kick it up a notch to pull out of that position. I know they can do it. After all, the whole class isn’t blonde! :-)
