Dealing with “Comment Spam”
¡Hola, Español 1 y 2!
I’ve been bombarded with tons of Spam via comments lately, so I’ve implemented various hacks into my website in the hopes of preventing the spam while still allowing you guys to comment.
One thing that you’ll notice right off the bat is that you now have to enter a random code to submit a comment. Make sure you type it in EXACTLY as it appears, or you will get an error.
Because all of these hacks are not perfect, it is possible that a legitimate comment won’t get through. If this comment is yours, please let me know and I will reinstate it.

hi mr. benedict… too bad i couldnt be in your class today… im sure it was very interesting… anyway… have fun and see you tomrorow
Hi ! xP
ummm.. i don’t understand how a random code stops the hacking for getting in or whatever… can’t the hacker get the random code too and like .. put crud in your sock anyways?? i mean.. i understand the spam thing (i think) but the hackers?? anyways… ttfn.. tata for now!
The problem is not with hackers, but with automated spam bots who log in to the website automatically and send comment spam. It is not a person, but a computer who does it. The problem with computers is that they cannot read graphics, so having a code placed in a graphic stops the computers dead because they cannot read the code to enter it.
