¡Hey, Español 1!
We’re two weeks in and many of you have not been listening to my advice! 
Doing well in my class can be boiled down to two things:
1. When in my class, ask plenty of questions, especially when you don’t understand.
and…
2. When at home, spend 10-15 minutes studying vocabulary each and every day.
It’s really that simple. Ask questions and study vocabulary. 
I know many of you are embarassed to ask questions and all I can say is what will you be more embarassed about: your grades or asking questions?
You need to ask questions each and every time you don’t understand. EVERY TIME!!! There are no exceptions! I will never get angry at you for asking questions unless you aren’t paying attention. Otherwise, all on-topic questions are welcome!
All of you are capable of getting an A or B in my class. I love to give out As and Bs. I would be a happy teacher if the only grades I gave out all year were As and Bs.
I know all of your are smart and can do the work. I have all the confidence in each and every one of you!
YOU CAN DO IT!

Hey, Guys!
So how was the first day back?
I’ve been back a week already. I hope you like your new Spanish teachers and I just wanted to say that I miss all of you, even Louis, Mark David, and Connor! :p
If you guys need any help this year, you can still email me. I’ll do my best to try to help you! Also, all of the stuff from last year is still up for Spanish 1 and 2. For Spanish 1, you’ll have to move down towards the bottom, because we don’t use Paso a Paso at my new school, but all the flash cards are still there.

You can now download the “Before You Know It” Flash card program for both Windows and Mac and download the vocabulary files for the new vocabulary from the Spanish 1 Handouts page.

Hey, all!
You may not have noticed the “La Palabra del DÃa” link on the sidebar. Each day, there is a new word listed and it’s a great way to increase your vocabulary. From time to time, I will offer a reward based on the knowledge of what the word was on a particular day. Sometimes, I will announce it ahead of time, other times, I won’t. Be sure to check back each and every day for your chance to win!
Tuesday’s Contest:
If you are one of the first 5 of each class to tell me what the official word-of-the-day is in Spanish for Monday, Sep 5th, you will receive a reward in class.
